The History

Hatch Clayworks was established in 2025 at 209 Main Street E, right in the heart of downtown Ashland, Wisconsin.

The name “Hatch” is about beginning—about the spark of new ideas, creative growth, and giving something the space to emerge.

That’s exactly what we aim to provide: a supportive studio where everyone can hatch their next idea, whether you’re exploring something new, returning to a familiar craft, or simply enjoying the process of making with your hands.

The
Mission

The
Mission

Hatch Claywork's mission is to create a warm, welcoming space where people can make art, make friends and make time for themselves. It’s a place rooted in the belief that working with clay can be both joyful and restorative —an invitation to slow down, explore, and reconnect with the simple act of making.

More than just a studio, Hatch is designed to be a third space: a place outside of home and work where people can feel at ease, be themselves, and experience the quiet satisfaction of shaping something by hand. Our goal is for everyone who walks through the door to feel supported, inspired, and just a little better than when they arrived. Because it's not just what you make, it's how you feel when you're making it that matters.
